How We Analyze Blackjack Rules
How blackjack rule changes such as 3:2 vs 6:5, S17 vs H17, DAS and surrender are compared on Gambling Online.
Blackjack numbers only make sense when the rules are stated. We separate full-game house-edge estimates from the effect of changing one rule.
Required rule fields
Deck count; blackjack payout; S17/H17; double restrictions; DAS; split limits; ace rules; surrender; hole-card/peek procedure; and any unusual push/win conditions.
Strategy tables
A strategy table must state its ruleset above the matrix. We do not call one table “the blackjack strategy” without qualification.
Rule-effect tables
Marginal effects are labeled as changes in player return relative to the cited baseline. They are not automatically summed as if rules were independent.
Sources and reproducibility
When we use external combinatorial analysis, we link to the source and preserve the assumptions. Original calculations should expose formulas or downloadable data where practical.
